Recently we (our entire family) went to attend a birthday party at a relative’s place and it was a very hush-hush affair. We were thinking of what to give that little baby who turned 5 this year (Anna) and after thinking so much, what we took was a puzzle box for her. Understanding that it is her growing years, we had to pick something that would be useful to her rather than just be an asset that gets stacked somewhere and probably being passed on later.
I understand that one of the best gifts would be a birthday dress for a baby girl or boy, but that’s not it. You have a gamut of gifting options when it comes to kids who are in the bracket of 5-8 years of age.
If you are someone who’s looking for an option, then this is the place for you to stick to.
1. A journal
Your kid is growing and has a lot of ideas, discoveries and things that they learn from their surroundings. A journal is an ideal gift for the baby that loves to travel and explore newer things. Whether it is by drawing tiny things or by writing, they’ll make memories for their future. This way, you can even teach the young one to capture moments.
Having already talked about clothes, if you know the kid’s choice, you can always pick a kids party wear for him/her. Whether you choose a baby girl frock or a baby boys clothes, the choice is all yours. All that matters is – the birthday kid should like it and it should fit them well. Make sure that you pick something that’s worth choosing keeping in mind the colors, fit and more.
3. Puzzle boxes
Don’t just pick any puzzle box because if it won’t intrigue your little one, it will be just a waste for sure. Pick a puzzle that is designed for the respective age and features designs that will be gender specific. For example, you can go for some fairy tale-like puzzles for the girls whereas; Ben10, Bheem or other ones for boys. This will get their minds to start working on problem-solving.
4. A set of books
A kid who’s 5 and above is practically learning how to write and read also. You can gift a set of books that will come in handy when it is about learning the basics of alphabets, or numbers or anything else. You can even convert the readable files into the audio ones while selection because when kids listen to something – they learn better.
5. Coloring books
Coloring therapy is the best therapy to keep a little one occupied and abstaining him from doing anything notorious. The coloring is what every kid likes and this would be a useful gift for the little one.
Your gift represents that whether you’re there or not with the little one on his/her birthday. Just choose your gift well.
